Sharjah's foreign investment office leads a seven-entity delegation at the AIM Summit in Dubai, spotlighting the emirate's industrial, innovation, environmental and logistics strengths to global investors seeking strategic opportunities in the UAE.

Sharjah's investment ambitions took centre stage in Dubai as the emirate's foreign direct investment office, "استثمر في الشارقة", led a coordinated push to attract global capital at the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) Summit. The delegation, representing seven Sharjah entities, arrived with a clear agenda: position Sharjah as the UAE's next industrial and innovation powerhouse.

Rather than a generic pitch, the Sharjah pavilion at AIM 2026 zeroed in on four high-growth sectors-industry, innovation, environment, and logistics-each chosen for its proven investor appeal and alignment with the emirate's infrastructure strengths. The inclusion of entrepreneurship and broader business support signalled a deliberate strategy to court both established players and emerging startups.

Sharjah's Targeted Investment Proposition

Marwan Al Ajla, Director of Investment Promotion and Support at "استثمر في الشارقة", made it clear that the emirate is not chasing investment for its own sake. Instead, Sharjah is leveraging its geographic location and robust infrastructure to offer investors a practical alternative to the region's more saturated markets. The focus on logistics and mobility is no accident-Sharjah's proximity to Dubai and the Northern Emirates, combined with its industrial zones and transport links, gives it a logistical edge that few can match.

Innovation and environmental sectors were also highlighted, reflecting Sharjah's intent to attract capital that aligns with sustainable growth and future-ready industries. By grouping these sectors under one pavilion, the emirate is sending a message: Sharjah is open for business, but only for those ready to build in sectors that matter for the next decade.

Who Stands to Gain-and What Comes Next

For international investors, the message is direct: Sharjah offers a credible, infrastructure-rich base for industrial and tech-driven ventures, with government support and a clear sectoral focus. Local entrepreneurs and established businesses in the emirate also stand to benefit from increased capital flows and sector-specific initiatives that could drive job creation and ecosystem growth.

Sharjah's calculated approach at AIM 2026 is a departure from the region's usual investment marketing playbook. By prioritising substance over spectacle and targeting sectors with real growth potential, the emirate is positioning itself as a pragmatic choice for investors who value infrastructure, location, and sectoral clarity over hype. The real test will be whether this focused strategy translates into measurable investment inflows and tangible economic outcomes for Sharjah in the years ahead.
